BoardEasy: Wheelchair Train Boarding Aid

This project introduces BoardEasy, a wheelchair train boarding aid designed to improve accessibility and independence for users.

About the Project

Limited accessibility for wheelchair users on trains poses significant challenges, restricting their independence and mobility. Current boarding processes, reliant on staff assistance and cumbersome ramps, create barriers for users, hindering their ability to navigate public transportation freely and independently. BoardEasy comprises a retractable leg mechanism for wheelchairs that facilitates seamless access to trains. By eliminating the need for staff assistance and cumbersome ramps, BoardEasy empowers wheelchair users to board independently, enhancing accessibility and fostering a sense of autonomy in public transportation.
