Supporting a green and just transition for NHS Scotland

Design Sprint 3 ‘Create’

Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel
28-29 May 2024

The third of our 4 Sprints focussed on ‘Create’, to generate different actions and ideas that help people reimagine what might be possible.

Guest speakers included Advisory Board member Wendy Rayner, Head of NHS Circular Economy Programme, Scottish Government, who outlined NHS Scotland’s sustainability strategy; Ness Wright from the charity Sniffer, on Climate Change, Resilience, Adaptation, and Prof. Peter Culmer, Leeds University, with Dr Katie Boag, NHS Leeds, on carbon auditing.

Design HOPES is a collaborative design-led research initiative, comprising five Scottish Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Dundee, Heriot Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh), NHS Scotland, the third sector, and design organisations.

This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as part of the Future Observatory GTE Hub Programme at the Design Museum.
