Dean Brown is a multidisciplinary designer and founder of Brown Office, a narrative driven design studio based in London. He designs and makes objects and installations for clients including Google, V&A, Uniqlo, Campari, Sèvres, Depop, Museum of the Home and Barbican Library. Dean studied product design at DJCAD, Dundee (2003-2007) followed by a residency period at Fabrica Research Centre, Italy (2010-2014). In parallel to his studio practice Dean is a Senior Research Fellow within the Interaction Research Studio, based at Northumbria University’s London campus.

Design HOPES is a collaborative design-led research initiative, comprising five Scottish Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Dundee, Heriot Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh), NHS Scotland, the third sector, and design organisations.

This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as part of the Future Observatory GTE Hub Programme at the Design Museum.
