With 25 years in photography, Marsaili began as a photojournalist for The Scotsman, worked in New York advertising studios, and captured celebrity endorsement product placement suites at The Oscars, Grammys, and Sundance Film Festival for Getty Images in Los Angeles. She later became a senior photographer at Amazon before transitioning into academia, earning an MSc in Digital Marketing (Distinction) and an MRes in Business Management. Now pursuing a PhD at the University of Strathclyde, she explores consumer culture through visual methodologies, bridging photography and research to examine identity and consumption.

A collaborative project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, as part of the Future Observatory programme, and led by the University of Strathclyde and University of Dundee (DJCAD), with Heriot-Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh, NHS Scotland, industry partners, and public sector stakeholders.
