Dr. Milica Prokic

Milica is an environmental humanities researcher with a background in Visual Arts. She joins Design Hopes building on knowledge exchange and impact work in the context of human health and environment, including the One Ocean Hub and the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group for Medicinal Cannabis project.

Milica’s research focuses on entanglements of human and other-than-human beings in adverse environments, such as prisons, places of exile, or frontlines. She has been using her art practice to create community and public engagement programs to bring closer to the wider community the research in humanities, as well as STEM including quantum physics, among other disciplines.

Design HOPES is a collaborative design-led research initiative, comprising five Scottish Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Dundee, Heriot Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh), NHS Scotland, the third sector, and design organisations.

This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as part of the Future Observatory GTE Hub Programme at the Design Museum [grant number AH/Y00373X/1].
