​​Neil is a designer and educator, working with clients and collaborators in the arts, public and education sectors on a range of activities, from publications and print, to exhibitions and websites, to educational projects. Key to all of these activities is a direct engagement with creativity, culture, and a community of makers, educators and practitioners. Recent projects have included co-curation (alongside colleagues at The Architecture Fringe, -ism magazine and /other) of A Fragile Correspondence, the Scotland+Venice project for the 18th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. In his current role with Design HOPES, he works across all areas of the project, finding ways to communicate the research being undertaken to a broad range of audiences.

Design HOPES is a collaborative design-led research initiative, comprising five Scottish Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Dundee, Heriot Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh), NHS Scotland, the third sector, and design organisations.

This project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) as part of the Future Observatory GTE Hub Programme at the Design Museum.
