Zara Standring

PhD student, Heriot-Watt University

Zara Standring is a PhD student in Chemistry at Heriot-Watt University, specialising in the recycling of polyester textiles. Her academic journey, including a BSc and a Masters by Research, has provided her with experience in polymer science and textile technology, equipping her to tackle interdisciplinary challenges in sustainable materials innovation.

A collaborative project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, as part of the Future Observatory programme, and led by the University of Strathclyde and University of Dundee (DJCAD), with Heriot-Watt University, Abertay University, and the University of Edinburgh, NHS Scotland, industry partners, and public sector stakeholders.
